Appearing June 12 on the FOX News Channel’s live morning talk show, FOX & Friends, Pet Safety Lady Christina Shelter showcased the advantages of traveling by RV for four-legged family members (click here to view the segment).
An A.C.E. motorhome was provided for the broadcast by Thor Motor Coach through an RVIA member lottery. We’re here with GoRVing.com to give pet safety tips, said Selter as she took viewers on an on-camera tour of pet-friendly features of the RV such as a pet-level window and built-in food and water dispenser, in addition to human comforts and conveniences. What a reason to get an RV, commented FOX correspondent Ainsley Earhardt admiringly.
Go RVing alerted its 50,000 Facebook fans to watch the segment through a series of posts as the RV made its way to the FOX News studio, along with live updates on the Go RVing Twitter feed. I want to get an RV, one fan commented about the story. I have three cats that I don’t want to leave behind.
According to RVIA’s latest Campfire Canvass study of seasonal travel plans, 57 percent of RV owners will bring a pet along on RV trips this summer, to make the trip more enjoyable, provide companionship and save money on boarding. “Keeping pets safe, healthy and happy during family trips is one reason many people buy RVs,” said Kevin Broom, RVIA director of media relations. “Working with the Pet Safety Lady is a good way to communicate that message.”
